2012 -- Weekend Pop-Ins
Well I got
to see my parents today. They are here
visiting this weekend. Of course, all
possible topics for discussion were thoroughly run into the ground after and
hour or so. After that it's awkward
silences and comments about the weather for the remaining four hours. Actually it's not that bad. ;-) It's good to see them and be able to
visit. They are good to come visit so
often. We ate, as is expected during
visits, from the vending machines. While
this may have been a step down for the parents, it's a step up for me. I was definitely on a sugar rush at the
end. The ongoing snacking of the day
consisted of:
Root Beer,
Dr. Pepper, Cherry Coke, Diet Coke, Monterrey Bacon Ranch Chicken Sandwich,
Angus Cheeseburger, Turkey Sandwich, Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, Sun Chips,
Chocolote Chip Cookies, Hershey's Chocolate Creme Pie, and a Snickers. I must confess that while I did indeed
partake in the consumption of most of the preceeding items, some of them were eaten
by the parents.
We filled
the extra time by playing a card game called Shanghai Rummy and a round of
Upwords. They are planning on coming
back tomorrow to visit as well. I'm sure
it will be more of the same except for a few menu changes, one of which will
hopefully consist of some variety of pizza.
